Installation
1. Complete the installation for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.
2. Launch the sapinst.exe from the Software Provisioning Manager folder. Choose SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Support Release 1 > MS SQL Server > Central System.
3. Choose Custom for the Parameter Mode. Click Next and the SAP installation will log you off. You will need to log in again.
4. Locate the Kernel NW 7.20 / 7.21 directory.
5. Define the SID and installation drive.
6. Set the FQDN and DNS domain name. Else, deselect and click Next.
7. Define the Master Password.
8. Choose the Domain Model. In this example, we have selected the Local Installation.
9. Set the password for OS user.
10. Select the Database Connection (if you have multiple database instances).
11. Click Next.
12. You will get the Prerequisites Checker Results. Please read it carefully and make sure that your system meets all conditions prompted by the prerequisite checker. For development purposes, some settings can be skip but not for production usage.
13. You will get below notification, and as stated in step 12, please define your SAP system usage. So, click No for development and for production please follow as per recommended results.
Your system does not meet some prerequisites or some prerequisites could not be evaluated. Make sure that your system meets all conditions prompted by the prerequisite checker before you choose “Yes”. Otherwise the “Prerequisites Checker Results” screen and this message will be displayed again. If you choose “No”, the prerequisites check is skipped. Keep in mind that the prerequisite checker does not automatically change any settings. Do you want to repeat the checks before continuing?
14. For this example, we have selected Local Domain for SAP Host Agent User Domain.
15. Define the operating user password.
16. Locate the SAP Solution Manager Installation Export. The export will come in 2 folder. You may need to define twice, folder 1 and folder 2.
17. Set the Database Schema user and password.
18. Set the expected system size for data files.
19. You data files configuration will based on step 18. But, you still can add or remove the data and log files.
20. Confirm the tempdb configuration. By default, SAP installer will automatically adjusted to the recommended value.
21. Set the General Load Parameter. You can increase the load but it must be aligned with your hardware specifications.
22. Set the password for Secure Storage Setting.
23. Locate the JAVA component.
24. Input the Central & SCS Instance Number.
25. Click Next.
26. Enter the UME users. You can use the default settings.
27. Key in the password for the UME users.
28. Locate the SAPCRYTO directory.
29. Select the archives to unpack. By default, select ALL and click Next.
30. Check the box if you want to integrate with SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) landscape. If not, click on Next.
31. Enter the System Landscape Directory (SLD) destination. Choose Register for existing central SLD or Configure for a local SLD.
32. Enter the Diagnostic Agent SID.
33. Define the password for Diagnostic Agent.
34. Set the Diagnostic Agent to Local Domain (for this example).
35. Assign the Diagnostic Agent Instance Number. By default, 97 will be set.
36. You will get the below notification. Just proceed with Yes.
The Diagnostics Agent user SOLCTCSAPServiceDAA needs to be added to the trusted users list that is described in the Host Agent profile (host_profile). Do you want to proceed with the installation? In case you choose No, you have to proceed as follows:
• Edit the profile (C:/Program Files/SAP/hostctrl/exe/host_profile) of the Host Agent as specified below and restart it. • If the parameter service/admin_users does not exist in the profile you need to include: service/admin_users=SOLCTCSAPServiceDAA • If it exists you need to add SOLCTCSAPServiceDAA to its value
CAUTION: the values are separated by a blank character.
37. Enter the password for Adobe Document Service (ADS) Users.
38. Enter the SLD for Diagnostic Agent. Choose Register for the existing SLD or No SLD destination.
39. Click Next.
40. The Parameter Screen is the compilation of all the parameters from the previous steps. You can tick of any parameters and choose Revise to change. Else, click Next.
41. The installation will start. Monitor the progress closely for any error popping up.
42. The installation of SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SR1 is complete!
